[07 - Video] Aftermath
[Tammy's not sure how many people might have witnessed the rather embarrassing display with Bartimaeus a while ago, but hopefully no one remembers it, if they did see it. And she's also hoping no one asks what exactly she was looking to accomplish with the djinn. Suffice to say that the outcome was not what she was looking for, and she's been working on moving on ever since.
And she's been occupying herself since then. Hence her cracking open her journal today.]
Hey Rapunzel. I've got a couple of things we might be able to use. But I'm not sure...
Anyone got a line on where I can get a small amount of wood?

See anything good?

There's a couple of pieces that look like they could be promising. Might not require too much cutting, which is good since I still haven't found a saw.
[Here she motions to a couple of nearby pieces, all roughly the same size and shape and relatively flat.]
no subject
[She looks over them, tapping her fingertip to her chin.]
Know anyone with a saw? [She smiles, and rocks on her feet.] I mean, one of the staff might be able to help us!
no subject
[She tosses a small smile over at Rapunzel.]
Though I SUPPOSE, if I had to guess, the Cap'n might have one? He has a boat, after all, I figure it's a safe bet he might have one.
no subject
...That is a wonderful idea, Tammy! Shall we go see if he happens to have one?
no subject
Sure, there's no harm in asking.
[She's pulls out her journal to check the messages as she starts to step back from the bonfire, but a reply from Riah makes her pause before flashing a quick smile.]
Actually, Riah says he has a toolbox and wants to help.
no subject
Oh~ Well, that's even better, right? For sure answers are always really helpful.
no subject
She clears her throat softly.]
Yeah, I'd say so. And if he has a toolbox, I'd wager he'd have a better eye for picking out wood than me.
no subject
And me, too. I mean...I don't know much about wood, really...Mother usually gathered that.
no subject
[Tammy flexes her fingers in toward her palm as Rapunzel let's her go, contemplating that soft touch and in the same breath telling herself not to dwell on it. It leaves her confused enough that she's not sure which thought wins, as her thumb idly brushes over her palm.]
no subject
[Fidgets.]
Sort of? It's - mostly me that does things around the tower, though. Mother -- is the one that gathered any wood that we might need.
no subject
[Now, see, Tammy is familiar with fairy tales--her dad used to read them to her at bed time--and tower + that much hair...plus that name...
But, no sense in saying anything. But she's looking at Rapunzel with something like a little bit more awe than she was before. Only a little, though, because that's still a lot of hair and she's still...well. Moving on.]
So she's the gatherer and you're the handy one?
no subject
Hey there! You two ready?
no subject
Oh! Hello--!

Now as for wood...
[He scratches his chin as he thinks.]
If there's none in the carpentry house then I remember seeing an axe hanging in there. We could always chop some up.
no subject
[Except please don't put that axe in her hands. Please.]
no subject
[Or hers. She's only seen axes in video games.]
no subject
Alright, we're gonna need some woodcarving tools too then. All that should be in the carpentry house too. Let's go.
[Maybe he can teach these two how to do it themselves. Not cutting down a tree of course, he'll do that, but how to shape the wood and build their suggestion box.
There should be a tree small enough to suit their needs in the forest. Hopefully the axes isn't dull like everything else.]
no subject
Come on, Tammy!
no subject
I don't think I've ever been in the carpentry house. Actually...I haven't been in most of these buildings. Mostly I just walk around outside...
[She'd assumed that the Doc wouldn't have been in any of the buildings, but suddenly that seems foolish. Her stomach clenches; what if he was hurt and trapped in a building? But no, if he'd died he would have come back...and by now he would have starved, wouldn't he? Tammy's stomach twists as her thoughts circle darkly.]
no subject
Good, it's still sharp.
[He hefts the axe over his shoulder.]
Well lets get to work.
