[Tammy's not sure how many people might have witnessed the rather embarrassing display with Bartimaeus a while ago, but hopefully no one remembers it, if they did see it. And she's also hoping no one asks what exactly she was looking to accomplish with the djinn. Suffice to say that the outcome was not what she was looking for, and she's been working on moving on ever since.

And she's been occupying herself since then. Hence her cracking open her journal today.]

Anyone got a line on where I can get a small amount of wood?

Honestly I don't expect him to listen or even pay any mind to what we're doing. But this won't be the first or last time I do something futile. Besides, at least we can try, and he might surprise us.
